There will be a library evening on Friday 26th May from 6-8pm when our speaker will be Jeremy Seabrook who lives in Levens. Jeremy has worked as a journalist in the UK and India and has written plays for theatre, television and radio. He has also written fifty books (yes, 50) with titles ranging from Pauperland, a History of the Poor in Britain to Garments from Blackburn to Bangladesh but on this occasion he will be speaking about his latest book which is a memoir about growing up in the provinces when being gay was still criminalised.
Feel free to bring your own refreshments or have a glass of wine or a soft drink with a contribution to our honesty bar!
