May Library Evening
Our last meeting in April was a very special one when Val Schilling and her family gave us an interesting insight into her husband Doug’s life, which proved to be remarkable. Val also kindly donated all the refreshments. The result was a truly memorable evening – Thank you Val.
Our next Library Evening will be on Thursday 21st May from 6-8pm in The Common House. Our guest speaker is a local Muswell Hill resident, Dennis Walder whose latest book is called “Amid The Alien Corn – A son’s Memoir”.
Dennis is an Emeritus Professor of Literature at the Open University. He made the O.U.his lifelong career, while also an academic author, broadcaster, reviewer and editor.
Dennis will bring copies of his book for sale at a discount price of £10.00 (cash please)
As usual, there will be an opportunity to book swap and your own recommendations of any recent reads will be most welcome.
Feel free to bring your own drinks but there will be wine and soft drinks available with a contribution to the honesty bar.
